Netflix Prize
The last thing I need in my life right now is more programming but this looks too fun to pass up.
The Netflix Prize is 1M dollars for anyone who can improve on the netflix cinematch ™ recommendation engine by 10%.
Having come from a startup that was working on this stuff I have a strong interest in this sort of thing.
The best part is the deadline is 2011, so I have plenty of time to attack this one when my life gets a little less hectic.
There is already a lot of great work being done on this. Who needs grad school anymore!
